To coincide with the Costume & Textile Association of New Zealand Symposium 2026, a series of pop-up demonstrations will be held in the Museum atrium space. These informal, drop-in sessions offer a chance to see skilled makers at work, explore a wide range of textile and craft techniques, and chat with passionate practitioners. Whether you stay for a few minutes or linger a little longer, there’s always something to discover.

Repair Cafe

See Kayleigh Garner and other skilled volunteers from Repair Café in action as they breathe new life into well-loved items. Drop in to see practical problem-solving up close—and discover how fabric repair can be both resourceful and rewarding.

All welcome.
