The Whanganui Regional Museum is an independent and nationally-recognised heritage venue, and is regarded as one of the most valued visiting experiences in the Whanganui district. We present a package of facilities available for hire at the Museum.

Te Whare Tapere: Davis Theatre
A venue for concerts, lectures, training sessions, film nights, visual presentations and live theatre. Seats 200.
Includes:
- Data projector.
- Sound system.
- Black and white boards.
- WIFI.
Hirers are to supply their own laptop with VGA or HDMI inputs, or suitable adaptors.
Cost: $200 half day; $400 full day.
Te Whare Huihui: Flexispace
(Formerly the Education Room – Te Akomanga)
A venue for seminars, workshops and meetings. Seats up to 50.
Includes:
- White board.
- Sound system.
- PowerPoint facilities.
- Smart TV with Zoom facilities.
- WIFI.
- Tables, chairs.
Cost: $200 half day; $400 full day.
Te Whare Kai: Kitchenette
This facility for food service can be hired in conjunction with any other Museum facility.
Includes:
- Crockery and cutlery;
- Hot water cylinder;
- Dishwasher;
- Fridge;
- Microwave oven;
- Small bench-top oven.
The hirer is responsible for food and clean-up.
Cost: $100 half day; $200 full day.

Ngā whakamahuki tāpuitanga – Terms and conditions of hire
- All costs include GST.
- Seating capacity in any venue must not be exceeded.
- The hirer is responsible for the delivery of all Health & Safety and Emergency instructions, which shall be issued to every hirer.
- Cancellation of venue bookings less than 48 hours before the event will incur a charge of $50 per venue.
- Maximum capacity for the Davis Theatre is 200 people.
- The public spaces at the Museum have a maximum capacity of 250 in total.
