Whanganui Regional Museum will commemorate Suffrage Day with a special event focusing on Whanganui women. 

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Waiora Bailey-Moore to the position of Kaiwhakaako Māori. Waiora’s whakapapa includes Tupoho in Whanganui and Puketapu in Taranaki. Waiora has a special interest in te reo Māori, and in the arts.

Revisiting a popular talk that has received many requests for repeat, Whanganui historian Scott Flutey will speak about the bells of Whanganui.

Museum Archivist, Sandi Black, will facilitate the workshop ‘Caring For Your Family Photographs’, providing hints and tips on how to take the best care of photographic collections at home.

After 159 years of being away from home Te Koanga o Rehua now stands tall at the Whanganui Regional Museum.
