Discover live music in the heart of Whanganui Regional Museum with the Saturday Sounds session.

Held in the Museum’s Atrium, this Saturday afternoon series celebrates talented local and visiting musicians across a diverse range of styles, creating a relaxed live music experience in the unique surroundings of the Museum.

On 12 September, the Atrium will be filled with the sweet sounds of Appassionata – Whanganui Collegiate School’s dynamic a capella ensemble. Combining rich harmonies, infectious energy and a shared love of music, these talented young girls perform an exciting mix of modern and gospel hits, timeless favourites and vocal arrangements. Whether performing for the school, or at community events, Appassionata captivates audiences with their enthusiasm, creativity and outstanding vocal talent, with arrangements and piano support by their vocal coach, Sharon Warburton.  

The performance will run for about an hour. Admission is free, no booking is required. Koha entry is appreciated. All welcome.
