The Whanganui Regional Museum Trust Board formed a Review Panel to consider and recommend changes to its Constitution, that would enable it to;

• outsource operations to the Whanganui District Council,
• adjust the Governance model to improve performance,
• update it to modern practice including alignment with the Charities Amendment Act 2023.

The Panel was informed by consultations with the major stakeholders of the Museum held over the past six months and has now completed its report to the Trust Board.

The Whanganui Regional Museum Trust Board will consider the recommendations and make decisions about them in April.

Prior to that, we invite you to a public meeting to share the findings and recommendations of the Review Panel.

This will give you the opportunity to comment on the recommendations, which will aid the Trust Board in its final deliberations. The meeting will be held in the Davis Lecture Theatre, Watt Street, and will be presented by the Trust Board Chair, Dr John Smart. All welcome.
