Whanganui Regional Museum
From rural Waitōtara to evening refinement — join us to explore a luxurious lace dress and velvet capelet made and worn by New Zealander Eileen May Washington. Discover how elegance, skill and style endured even in the depths of the Depression.
Kaihāpai Taonga/Curator, Fashion and Textiles, Stephanie Wood, will host a short talk exploring this wonderful ensemble, gifted to the Museum by Dell McGee.
Everyone is welcome. No need to book. Admission is free. Koha for the Museum is always appreciated. The gown will remain on display throughout February.
